Emphasises the role of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which is currently providing shelter for over one million internally displaced persons and has become the primary platform for humanitarian assistance to the population of the Gaza Strip; 17.1.2024

Emphasises the role of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which is currently providing shelter for over one million internally displaced persons and has become the primary platform for humanitarian assistance to the population of the Gaza Strip; deplores the incitement to violence, glorification of terrorists, antisemitism and hate speech taught in Gazan schools via Palestinian Authority textbooks and additional material developed by the UNRWA, which are taught in both UNRWA schools and Hamas-run schools in the Gaza Strip; stresses that the perpetrators of the Hamas attack on Israel are graduates of the Gazan education system; supports an investigation into UNRWA’s activities in the Gaza Strip and its ability to work independently from Hamas’s and other Palestinian terror organisations’ interference; calls for immediate measures to be taken against UNRWA teachers and staff who have celebrated, praised or glorified Hamas’s attack on Israel; B9-0068/2024 } B9-0071/2024 } B9-0073/2024 } RC1/Am. 18
