Subject: Transposition of the fourth revision of Directive (EU) 2022/431
Over 100 000 European workers die from work-related cancer every year. The Commission has been imposing restrictions on 30 carcinogenic substances in the workplace since 2014.
The fourth revision of Directive (EU) 2022/431 has been in force since 16 March 2022, with Member States being required to transpose it into national law by 5 April 2024 at the latest.
Can the Commission indicate which Member States have transposed the legislation thus far?

Answer given by Mr Schmit on behalf of the European Commission
(23 October 2023)
As indicated by the Honourable Member, the Member States are required to transpose Directive (EU) 2022/431 (1), which is the fourth amendment of Directive 2004/37/EC (2), by 5 April 2024.
Since the transposition deadline has not yet expired, the Commission is not able to disclose which Member States have notified already complete transposing measures. Indeed, any notified measures will need to undergo completeness and conformity checks and the Commission has not initiated this process yet (3).
